Energy and Strength in Times of Stress and Pressure
The medicinal mushroom Cordyceps sinensis is also known as the Chinese caterpillar fungus or caterpillar club. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it has long been regarded as a vitality tonic and aphrodisiac.
It was discovered in the Tibetan Highlands based on observations of the yaks grazing there. Compared to other yaks, these yaks exhibit exceptional strength, stamina, and fertility, which is attributed in no small part to their consumption of the Cordyceps mushroom that grows there. For this reason, Cordyceps is also considered a mushroom that promotes “strength and vitality.”
Cordyceps is particularly beneficial during times of exhaustion, fatigue, and burnout, as it helps restore strength. It stabilizes the adrenal glands, regulates and optimizes stress hormones, and inhibits the enzyme monoamine oxidase. As a result, it improves mood and has an overall positive effect on mental well-being.

Cordyceps - Usage
The Chinese caterpillar fungus is not suitable for consumption. It is the most expensive of all mushrooms and is generally used only for therapeutic purposes. The mushroom mycelium is used, usually in powder form, and is administered as capsules.
To achieve the desired restorative effect, it is recommended to use the product for several weeks. The dosage depends on the specific product and the individual’s current condition and is typically discussed with a mycotherapy specialist.
In this post we explain what mycotherapy is. Mycotherapy is also offered by our partner, Naturheilpraxis equalance.
Cordyceps - Combinations
Cordyceps combines exceptionally well with the medicinal mushroom Hericium when the goal is to promote calm and relaxation in the context of stress-related issues. Cordyceps has a restorative, strengthening, and revitalizing effect, while Hericium has a calming and balancing effect.
Cordyceps can also often be combined well with the Reishi medicinal mushroom. Reishi is the “all-rounder” among medicinal mushrooms and, in addition to its many comprehensive, health-promoting effects, also contributes to greater stress tolerance and improved sleep.
